2010 and beyond - turning 60
Taki's 1960's house was in need of an update so in 2012, the decision was made to renovate.
It turned into a fairly big job (understatement) but satisfying.
All the rooms ended up with work done.
We opened up the place but kept the 60s exterior.
It's worked well and is a lovely, bright home to live in.
My friend Wayne. We've been friends since the 70s. Very, very funny man.
Celebrating Wayne's 'retirement'. Good fun with lovely people
We went to a Lily Farm one day. We've been to many, many places together. Nurseries are a favourite. Wayne likes to shop!
I worked on Shirls Neighbourhood at Channel 7. Great fun. A guy by the name of Ron Mueck made all the puppets and worked them. He later moved to England and became famous with his amazing sculptures. They toured Australia. Giants and miniatures all in perfect detail.
The detail that went into these sculptures was incredible.
We had a great New Year in Merimbula. If you're a seafood lover, you should go there.
Take away heaven!
Paul & Jerome joined us for a lovely dinner.
Three months before my 60th, we had a gathering of friends for a meet and greet. Lots of food and drink for people to get to know each other. We had showbags for everyone that included lots of info on Bali.
It was nice that good friends Paul & Jerome were coming over.
After countless trips to Bali, this was a highlight. Celebrating 60 years? Hmmmm....I'm undecided on that one!
Taki and I in the pool at Cicada Villas
Me in the outdoor bath at Cicada.
If you head down to the beach, you'll see some amazing sunsets.
Breakfast is served everyday to your villa.
This was in Canggu.
The ricefields near Ubud are beautiful. Difficult not to take photos.
Dear friend Alex told me he couldn't make it to the party and then surprised me by arriving unannounced. I was gobsmacked. Great to have him there.
Taki wasn't quite sure how big the flowers were that he was ordering! Beautiful. I loved them.
All of us at Ku De Ta celebrating. It was a lovely night.
Alex has just released his CD from Playschool. It's great fun.
Pets. 2 cats and at one time, 4 chooks. Sadly the foxes took care of the chooks but before that they got on quite well with Billy and Dusty, the cats. This photo of Dusty warning the chook, won a prize from Harvey Norman.
This is Billy the seal-point Birman. Incredible blue eyes and a lovely relaxed nature.
He rests a LOT!
From L: Millie, Denis, Me, Jim, Taki. Lovely neighbours from Gray Street. Millie is just about the nicest bloke around with the funniest sense of humour!
Dusty loves her Dad.
I go to Aquaerobics each day and have a coffee with the gals afterward. They're great fun and like all girls, don't mind a bit of gossip.
I had lost contact with gorgeous Olga Tamara since our days on Cop Shop but happily reunited our friendship in 2014 via Facebook
If I had to choose a favourite of the shows I directed, 'NINE' would be it. Very rewarding
I love cooking and decided to upgrade to the KitchenAid. Great!
I even got into the bread making. None of that packet stuff for me.
Although I was originally a Bulldogs supporter, Taki's influence converted me to the Tigers. Television is close enough, I don't think I could handle my exuberance at the ground - for real!
January 2013 saw Taki hit the milestone 50yo. We had a great party at a fantastic Greek restaurant.
Family and friends got together for the celebration.
It was an incredibly hot night until we opened the windows and spilled out onto the street.
Some of my family and Taki's family.
Taki has a special rapport with his nephew George (far right). They have a mutual love of the Richmond Football Club.
Even my sister Tina (left) kicked up her heels at Taki's 50th.
I'm enjoying photography and this pic won a prize at my local club.
Off we went to Tasmania for a few days in March 2014. It's a beautiful place but we didn't have nearly enough time to see it all. We'll go back, certainly
Salamanca Markets are a great place to look at locally made things. I fancied a bag from this gal's stand.
This was the bag I purchased. She had very little left at the end of the day.
On top of Mt Wellington. It was a great day to see it all.
The ferry took us to MONA (The Museum of Old & New Art). Fantastic and a MUST for everyone.
One of the exhibits was the 'white library'. Full size, all white.
I've know Geoff for over 50 years. We went to Primary and Secondary School. Our friend Wayne formed the trio that went to Geoff's 60th.
Geoff is a fierce Bulldogs supporter so we hauled out our best Red, White and Blue for the Party. Wayne's wife Mary is photobombing us!
L to R. Wayne, Brad, Taki, Geoff.
A great balloon flight over the Yarra Valley in Feb 2013.
Taki's nephew George bought a puppy and named it Ajax. He's the perfect, picture-postcard puppy. I fell in love.
Taki's rear garden from about 2010. I've slowly been working on it. I've even got a vegetable patch.
A year or so later. Drinks anyone?
Another year later. I've gone for a lot of perfumed plants. About 70 Gardenias will help scent the air, I'm sure.
2014 - Easter. We went to Sydney and stayed with Andrew in his gorgeous home.
Liz has one of the nicest views I've seen. Her place hangs over the water and looks out towards the ocean. Beautiful.
